“The Impact of God’s Love”
God love impacted the old man as well as the new man.
Galatians 2:20 (KJV) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Paul was saying my old self is crucified. It is no longer I who live but Christ who live in me. II Corinthians5:14
Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for us our old life died.
God love impacted the New man, we no longer live a self-centered life but a Christ centered life.
Those who receive Christ has received a new life and are no longer living for themselves.
We are new creatures. Resist self when he comes up. Anyone who comes to Christ has become a new person. Operate from the love of God. II Corinthians 5:15 He died for everyone so that those who receive their new life will no longer live for themselves but will live for Christ.
Paul was greatly impacted by the love of God.
Paul the old man...
Paul was firm in his conviction. He worked hard to reject Christianity. The old Paul would throw believers in jail.
Anyone who belong to Christ has become a new person. We operate from the love of God.
Paul the new man...
Was commissioned by Jesus the preach Christ word to the Gentiles. From that time on Paul lived a Christ centered life. He operated from the Love of God.
Spiritual nuggets concerning the impact of God's Love in the life of the believer:
It make us realize that we are privileged in God’s love in our life.
We have eternal life... John 10:28, Ephesians 1:13
We are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise.
We have an incorruptible inheritance that is undefiled and not going to pass away.
We are kept by the power of God thru faith.
We have joy in-spite of our circumstance. Our joy come from Christ dwelling in us. It is good to be reminded of who we are in Christ. Many are called but few are chosen.
We are a peculiar people. We are working with God and God is working with us. Proverbs 8:18 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, pride, arrogance.
God’s love gives us a heart to forgive. If we don’t have a forgiving spirit God won’t forgive us.
God’s love will give us a burden for lost souls. Moses was willing to have his name blotted out for the sins of others. Exodus 32:32-33 God said, “Whosoever sin against me, him will I blot out”.
